Every semester the HCGES offers German courses with different levels and intensities.
Our courses are open to students and faculty members of the University of Haifa as well as to the general public.
What should you expect?

• Trained, native German teachers
• integrated concept of language teaching
– improving all skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. Through a variation of activities, we will strengthen the students' communication abilities.
• German as our teaching language
• courses according to the Common European framework of languages (A1-C2)

Semester A: 27. October 2019 - 31. January 2020
Semester B: 08. March 2020 - 26. June 2020
How will you be able to pass the course?
In order to pass this course and receive a certificate/credits, it is obligatory for students to:
• Participate regularly (max. 2 missed days) - if you miss a class, you should ask the teacher/fellow students what you missed and catch up by yourself
• Actively take part in the lesson and prepare homework: 25% of your grade
• Write chapter tests: 25% of your grade
• Pass the final test: 50% of your grade

How much do you need to pay?
Students of the University of Haifa pay in the frame of their tuition fee and are required to buy the course book for 90NIS.
(Payment to Mrs. Adi Taft, 20th Floor Eshkol Tower).
Other (external) students are asked to pay 2500NIS. This includes all teaching material.
How do you register?
If you are a student of the University of Haifa you can register through the University portal – just type in the according course number.

Intensive language course (3 weeks) (pdf)

Language level and size of study groups. There will be two levels offered during this period of time: B1.1 and A2.1
B1.1 is a course for students, who have finished A2.2.
A2.1 is a course for students, who have finished A1.2.
Please be aware that you might be asked to show proof of participation in previous
language courses or pass a short level test to be able to enroll in the intensive course. The size of the study group will be not more than 12 students. Please be aware that the university reserves the right to cancel the course, if not enough students sign up.
The course will take place from 29.07. till 15.08.2018 from Sunday till Thursday,10:15 – 14:00 (including a 30 Minute break).
