Daniel Mahla is a Senior Lecturer at the HCGES and the Department of Jewish History at the University of Haifa. His research focuses on modern Jewish history, with a particular emphasis on Central Europe and Palestine/Israel. His broader research interests include modern nationalism, religion and politics, oral history, popular culture, European-Israeli relations, and the legacy of German-speaking Jewish immigrants to Israel. As part of the Yekke initiative, he is investigating how German-Jewish heritage has been preserved and transmitted across generations.
